Whistleblower Complaint, OCCRP, and USAID: Were They Behind Trump’s Impeachment?
The 2019 impeachment of Donald Trump was triggered by a whistleblower complaint from a CIA analyst. However, new evidence suggests the whistleblower’s claims were largely built on reports from OCCRP, an investigative journalism organization financially backed by USAID. USAID’s own officials admitted to approving OCCRP’s work plan and personnel, raising concerns that this was not an independent investigation but a coordinated effort. If a government-funded media outlet played a central role in Trump’s removal, this suggests intelligence agencies may have been more involved in impeachment proceedings than previously thought, calling into question the legitimacy of the process.
